Home Health Aide

Job Summary:

As a Home Health Aide (HHA), you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living in their homes. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or other healthcare professional to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide support with mobility and ambulation, using assistive devices as needed.
  • Help with meal preparation, feeding, and medication reminders as per the care plan.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment for the client.
  • Monitor and report changes in client's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain proper sanitation standards.
  • Document care provided and report to the designated supervisor as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program.
  • Current certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in compliance with state regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of personal care and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients and their families.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting and transferring clients.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
